Empire Magazine Cover

The masthead is in bright red writing which makes it stand out for the audience. This is effective because the text used is clear for the audience to read and so it would catch their eyes easily.

The dateline is positioned in the same area as the barcode, as it is on a plain white box, makes it easier for the audience to read as sometimes they can change the font, making it harder to understand.

For the main image, they have used a shot of Jack Sparrow positioned in the center of the magazine cover which helps to promote the film of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

There are a few cover lines included in the magazine cover which have been distributed around the page but mainly focused on the right hand side of the page to make more of an impact for the reader.
The colours for the text in the cover lines are yellow and white so they reflect on the background of the main image without distracting the reader from the main story.

The bar code is positioned at the bottom right of the magazine which is very common for most magazines. Although this is a standard barcode that many magazines include.
