Certificate Research - PG

PG stands for Parental Guidance which means that the film is suitable for people to generally watch the film but some of the scenes that are included within the film may not be suitable for young children to watch. Therefore, they would need the parents permission before they are allowed to watch the film.

Not all PG films are made for a specific audience but it just means that it does not want to unsettle any children with some of the scenes and so it is up to the parents whether they would want their child to watch it or not. PG films will not generally include any scenes that will definitely upset a child but it may occur in a film. There may be bad language in a PG film but it would only be mild language such a 's**t' or 'son of a b***h'.

Violence does not really occur in  PG film as that is the type of behavior that would be made in an older film and so the audience would know that it is not serious but it is not something that should be done in reality.
